Our Beliefs

God - There is one God, who exists in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

First Things First – Matthew 6:33 This scripture tells us to keep our priorities straight.  We must seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness and then everything else will be added to us.

The Bible - The Old and New Testaments are the perfect and inspired word of God Himself.

Jesus - Our Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God.  He was born of the Virgin Mary, became man without ceasing to be God, in order that He might reveal God to us and redeem us from our sins.

Holy Spirit - The Holy Spirit came to help us understand God, to give us knowledge, wisdom, peace and counsel us in countless other ways, to draw us to God and show us our need for Him and our own salvation.

Salvation - We believe that we are saved by the grace of God and not through our own works.  Man can do nothing on his own to change his eternal destiny.  We receive salvation by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose blood was shed on the cross to redeem (to free from the consequences of sin, to win back) us through the forgiveness of sins.

The Lord's Day (Sabbath) - The first day of the week is the Lord's Day  . …It should be used for the purposes of worship and rest.

Evangelism, Missions and the Great CommissionChrist directed every follower and every church of the Lord Jesus Christ to endeavor to make disciples of all nations, to seek constantly to win the lost to Christ by our actions (the way we live, by our Christian values, peace, love, joy) and words wherever appropriate. The New Testament Book of James makes it very clear that Christians are supposed to live proactively, meaning we are to act according to what we believe because if our faith inspires no action it is dead, useless and phony.  If we don’t do this, we are only fooling ourselves that our faith means anything at all.

Education - Every follower of Christ should seek to be Christ-like.  This is only possible when we understand fully what this means.  In order to live a Christ-like life, we must be educated in the Word of God.  The Holy Bible is our authoritative, final word on this matter.

Stewardship - God is the source of all our blessings. It is our privilege and duty to bless others as we are able.  We are also taught to bring the first of our fruits to the House of the Lord. It is also our duty to be a good steward with everything we have.

Cooperation - Cooperation is desirable between all God’s people and among the various Christian denominations.  We are all members of the body of Christ, serving the same kingdom with our own unique gifts and talents.

Religious Freedom - The US constitution provides that the government shall do nothing to infringe upon our faith or exercise of such faith.  A free church in a free country is the Christian ideal.

Relationships - God has ordained the family as the foundation of human society. Marriage is recognized only as the union of one man and one woman. The husband and wife are equal in God’s eyes since both are created in God's image.  Within the context of marriage, God has called the husband to be the spiritual leader of the household but never to lord it over his wife.  He is to protect her and love his bride in the way Christ loves the church and gave himself up for her.  Both spouses should seek first a strong, Christ-centered marriage.  When they are strong as a couple, they will be far better parents and better role models for their children.  We also believe life begins at conception.  We believe in the sanctity of human life regardless of age.
